Shipping Policies

Shipping costs are based on actual UPS and USPS (Postal Service) rates. There are several options available and all shipping costs can be calculated in the shopping cart and during checkout. Below are all the shipping options we offer.

UPS Shipping Methods - UPS Ground, UPS 3 Day Select, UPS 2nd Day Air, UPS Next Day Air and UPS Standard to Canada.

USPS Priority Mail & Parcel Post - Anybody can choose Priority Mail or Parcel Post but there is a single package weight restriction of 70lbs. Military personnel overseas have to use one of these two methods when placing an order. If you are ordering Kettlebells and are using one of these two shipping methods you cannot order sizes larger than 28kg. There are not any restrictions on quantity, just single package weight.

UPS Standard to Canada - For all orders shipping to Canadian locations. Allow 5-8 business days to receive your order using this method of shipping. All customs fees at time of delivery are the responsibility of the customer, this includes any brokerage fees and import taxes. For more information and rates on customs fees please contact UPS at 1-800-Pick-UPS. Refused packages will be charged a restocking fee and the return shipping cost.

Freight Shipping - Freight shipping will be used if orders are generally more than 200 pounds. If you think your order will be shipping via freight please contact us at (925)297-5494 for rates.

Ground Transit Times - California Strength ships products from two warehouses. One is currently based in San Ramon California, the second is in partnership with our strategic partner MuscleDriverUSA in South Carolina. Depending upon your order and location in the United States, shipping times will vary. Please plan accordingly.

Package Tracking

UPS Tracking - All UPS tracking can be done through the ship notification email. Please provide a legitimate email address if you wish to track your package. After you track your package, if there is anything unusual with the status of your package please call us at (925) 297-5494 or you can call 1-800-Pick-UPS to speak directly with the carrier.

Freight Tracking - If your order shipped via freight carrier, you can track your order through the ship notification email from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please be aware that it may take up to 24 hours after the order is shipped to receive the freight pro number from the freight company.

Payment Information

If you are paying with a debit card or credit card we accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa. All credt card transactions will process through California Strength.

Orders shipping to California locations will have a sales tax of 8.25% + any local sales tax for your county or city. If you are located in California and are a tax exempt entity (i.e. a school) please call your order in at (925) 297-5494. Orders shipping outside of California will not incur a sales tax.

All online transactions at CaliforniaStrength.com are handled with a 128-bit SSL encryption certificate. When you enter your personal information and credit card number into the online checkout, it is transmitted across the Internet in an encrypted (scrambled) form, then decoded when it gets to us. Order Acceptance and Fulfillment

Most orders will be shipped within 24-48 hours after the order is placed. For large orders, please allow 4 days for the order to ship. Please scroll up to Shipping Policies to view the transit times for the shipping methods available.

After you place an order with us, an invoice for your order will appear onscreen and will also be emailed to you. You can also use this confirmation email to track your package (UPS only) after your order is shipped. Please print the onscreen page and save the email for your records.

If the billing address on your order does not match the billing address for the credit card the order will not ship. CaliforniaStrength.com uses a national AVS matching system that verifies every credit card billing address that is used on the site. If the incorrect billing address is provided we will email you and ask you to provide the correct billing address; if that information is not provided within two weeks the order will be cancelled.

We reserve the right to cancel any order for any reason. If a fraudulent credit card is used on our site we will notify the cardholder's bank and contact the cardholder immediately.

Warranties and Return/Exchange Policies

Unless otherwise noted, all products have a 90-day performance defect* warranty. Any damaged product can be sent back to us for a refund or exchange as long as it is within 90 days of the date of purchase. California Strength is responsible for the cost of return shipping on items covered by the 90-day performance defect* warranty.

Unless otherwise noted, all products have a 30-day aesthetic** warranty. If a product has an aesthetic** issue, the customer can send it back to us for a refund or exchange as long as it is within 30 days of the date of purchase. The returned item must be in new condition to receive a refund or exchange. California Strength is responsible for the cost of return shipping on items covered by the 30-day aesthetic warranty.

Incorrect Item Received - If you received the wrong item in your order or if your order was damaged during shipment, please contact us immediately so we can ship the proper items to you and give you instructions on returning any erroneously shipped merchandise.

Examples of items not covered by the performance defect* or aesthetic** warranties include the item being the wrong size or the customer simply deciding he does not want it after all. Any item that could still be used for it’s intended purpose and does not have visible defects is not covered by warranty. The cost of returning the item to us is the customer’s responsibility and must occur within 30 days to receive a refund or an exchange. If the customer no longer wants the item and nothing is wrong with it, a 15% restocking fee will be applied.

Exceptions: Warranties and Return/Exchange Policies

Olympic Weightlifting Bars

MuscleDriver USA offers a Lifetime Performance Warranty on all barbells purchased through California Strength. The MuscleDriver USA Lifetime Performance Warranty warranties against any major defects, such as bending, knurling defects, collar spin, and coating issues. These are major issues that effect the overall performance of the bar. Only issues that affect the performance of the bar are covered under the Lifetime Performance Warranty.

Aesthetic issues are not covered under the Lifetime Performance Warranty. If you receive a bar that has minor flaws such as scratches or nicks we will replace the bar if the issue it brought to our attention immediately. Minor scratches and nicks are regarded as common wear and tear on bars over their life span. Most wear and tear issues occur when storing or racking the bar, not during its actual use. The more a bar is cared for, the less wear and tear it will experience

Discontinued Pendlay Barbells are no longer warrantied. Prior to the MDUSA / Pendlay merger all Pendlay Bars were produced by a different supplier. This supplier no longer honors warranties and no longer has an association with MDUSA. Only Nexgen Bars are warrantied by MDUSA.

Olympic Weightlifting Shoes

All Olympic weightlifting shoes have a 30-day warranty, regardless of whether they have a performance or aesthetic defect. If the shoes have a performance or aesthetic defect, we will pay for the cost of return shipping.

There is a 30 day return/exchange time limit on all Olympic weightlifting shoes. Shoes must be returned within 30 days of the date of purchase in order to receive a refund or exchange. The cost of shipping on returns and exchanges will be the responsibility of the customer if there is nothing wrong with the shoes, such as in the case where the customer ordered the wrong size. If the customer decides to return a pair of shoes and there is nothing wrong with it, California Strength will charge a 10% restocking fee.

Clock Gone Bad

The Clock Gone Bad wall timer has a 1-year Performance Warranty. If there is a defect with the wall timer, the customer can return it for a refund or exchange as long as it is within 1 year of the date of purchase. We will cover the cost of shipping on returns of defective wall timers. We will not send out a replacement clock until we have received the defective clock back and verified it is not void of warranty. Dropping the clock or tampering with the casing will void the warranty.

Bumper Plates

The Pendlay Elite bumper plates have a 5-year Performance Warranty. If there is a defect with the elite bumpers, the customer can return it for a refund or exchange as long as it is within 5 years of the date of purchase. We will cover the cost of shipping on returns of defective Pendlay Elite bumper plates.

The Econ bumper plates have either a 3-year Performance Warranty or a 90-day Performance Warranty. Econ bumper plates weighing 25 pounds or more can be returned for a refund or exchange as long as it is within 3 years of the date of purchase. Econ bumper plates weighing less than 25 pounds can be returned for a refund or exchange as long as it is within 90 days of the date of purchase. We will cover the cost of shipping on returns due to performance defects in the Econ bumper plates

The 30-day Aesthetic Warranty applies to all bumper plates. If a customer is unsatisfied with their order due to an aesthetic defect, the customer can send the item back to us and receive a refund or exchange as long as it is within 30 days of the date of purchase. The returned item must be in new condition to receive a refund or exchange. We will pay for the cost of shipping if the bumpers are covered by the aesthetic warranty.


*A performance defect means that  the product is damaged in such a way that it cannot be used as intended.

** Aesthetic defects are ones in which the item has a visual problem, but could still fully function in it’s intended purpose. Aesthetic defects include nicks, scratches and peeling among other things. Generally, the aesthetic defect would be noticed by the customer immediately upon receiving the product.
