Single squat negative.
Two more sessions and ill be done the switching cycle and start the Intense Mesocycle.
Im excited!
Back Squats -
60kg X 5
105kg X 5
120kg X 5
135kg X 5
138kg X 3
165kg X 1 <- Squat negative, counting to 5 and just placing it on the pins. Felt alright to have on my back and sit down with.
Power cleans and deadlifts.
Only one day left in this switching cycle before the fun begins!
The BCPA(british columbia powerlifting association) is having a Fall open in September or October so im hoping to enter and destroy some Canadian Records! at the 66kg class!
Power cleans - each set was 2 PC and 2 jerks
no warm up i had to rush and get to work.
60kg X 6 sets
Deadlifts - just for the heck of it, gotta start deadlifting again for the power meet.
All easy pulls no belt.

Speed Squats -
105kg X 12 sets of 2 with 40-50lbs of band tension.
Last day of speed cycle, starting new 6 week cycle in 2 days, its gonna last 6 weeks and ill hopefully get a new 1RM in that time.

Great video, thanks for posting. Your form looks pretty good from what I can see, but I do have one question for you. It was hard to tell since the music was playing pretty loudly, but I couldn't hear the bar rattling when it reaches your hips... do you hit the bar with your hips/thighs at the top of position 1? If you watch and listen closely in the highlight videos of the team practices, you can hear the bar rattling when the guys hit it with their hips/thighs because they are hitting the bar so hard in order to propel it up to the top where the catch occurs. This is what helps them move so much weight. If you aren't hitting, I would recommend that you try it because it will help you increase your lifts. If you ARE hitting, try to listen for the rattling sound - that is the best indicator that you are making sufficient contact, and not just brushing the bar and pulling with your arms, which will limit the amount of weight you can pull. Do you have a coach or trainer who helps you with your Olympic Lifting? Your jerk looks really solid, and the form (other than the hitting) looks great on the rest of the lift as well from what I can see.

Yes i am hitting high on my thighs but i only do the 1 clean and jerk at the beginning.
My friend(the red haired fellow doing all the clean and jerks) is convinced the 2nd pull is all jumping and shruggging, not so much hips.
Ill try and remind him next time we train. He got a PR today tho.

Heres what i did,
Clean and jerks - only did 1 jerk in these sets, triceps are still very sore. Also only 3 of my cleans are in the video.

Snatches - after squats i had nothing to do so i worked on technique a little

Vincent - I'm 100% on board with putting Canada back on the international scene for powerlifting/weightlifting.
Weightlifting is defiantly more popular over there in Quebec eh? Most of the people that represented Canada in olympic level weightlifting were/are from Quebec.
Jen - The squats were easier than then looked in the video lol. You better slow down before you catch up with me!
Also i had nothing to do after my squats so i practiced some light snatches because i was waiting for my friend to finish up.
Anyway, todays workout went well -- even tho i have a nasty cold.
