Welcome to the California Strength Forum
So i've had this pain in my lower glute for about 3 and a half months now. It is very annoying as I cant do squats, deadlifts etc due to the pain. I would feel pain when bending over to touch my toes, getting into a bend over row/hang clean position or even climbing the stairs. It gets sore when I try to put any sort of pressure on it. Any idea what it could be? I would appreciate any help
Thanks
Aaron
Depending on where it is in the Glute area would depend on the specific issue. It would also depend on what type of pain it is, sharp, burn etc. My suggestion would be to see an ART practitioner. Perhaps there is an adhesion in there somewhere in which a good ART practitioner may be able to sort out for you. Not sure if you've seen one already.
I know this doesn't really narrow it down for you. This would be a great place to start, without any additional information it's hard to give a specific suggestion.
Hope this helps.
Has it improved? If you haven't got a diagnosis for it ask your doctor whether it could be chronic exertional compartment syndrome, it's possible to get this in your buttocks. It hurts worse after exercise and when stretching, if the pain isn't easily something else, a doctor can test for this by measuring the pressure inside the 'compartment' (bundle of muscles inside a fascia sheath), with a pressure-measuring needle.
